It’s a giveaway, a review, plus a blog hop! Cindy Grisdela‘s brand new book published by C&T, Adventures in Improv Quilts, arrived in my email today, and I’ve got a review for you below. If you want a free e-copy of Cindy’s book, leave a comment below and I’ll pick a winner at random on October 20. Keep an eye out for the winner, which I’ll announce here.

This book is packed with useful material for both newcomers to improv and more experienced quilters looking to delve deeper into the subject.

I specially enjoy the chapter about “Elements and principles of design”, where Cindy explains these topics using excellent examples

The new book offers four guided activities that are intended to provide you with a roadmap for making some of the quilts; not patterns per se, but fantastic more detailed instructions.

This is a fantastic book with a lot of amazing photos. Cindy’s quilts are recognized for their vibrant colors and experimental shapes that resemble traditional quilt blocks. It’s so much delight to see so many of Cindy’s quilts put together, both new quilts and earlier quilts.
